There are so many guns in Warframe that it can be hard to figure out how to use them all. These ten are the best ones in the game, which is good news.
An awful lot of new people join the sci-fi space ninja game Warframe every time it gets a big update. A lot of serious gamers are hooked on it because of how fast and smooth the gameplay is, how customizable it is, and how the art style is generally strange.
It can also turn off a lot of new players with its many complicated features and lack of instructions. Besides that, the game gets harder over time if players don’t use good guns or Mods. A good weapon is just as important as good mods. In Warframe, these are the ten best main guns you can use.
Fulmin Prime
It’s hard to find a better tool for beginners than the Fulmin and its Prime cousin. With the push of a button, the Fulmin can switch between an Arca Plasmor shotgun and a full-auto lightning weapon. It can be crafted as early as Mastery Rank 8, and as high as MR12 for the Prime version. It can hit for an endless amount of time, has high critical and status chances, and only gives elemental damage, which makes it great for using armor and health damage boosters.
With just a few Forma, the Fulmin can become a Steel Path killing machine. Its base stats make it great for clearing the Star Chart. And once you reach the endgame of Warframe, the Prime version can easily destroy Steel Path material with only a small amount of work.
Ignis Wraith
But even though the Veilbreaker update made some changes to the Ignis Wraith less powerful, it is still one of the best primary weapons you can use right now. The Ignis Wraith can no longer hit targets in the head, and the weapon can no longer be traded. Instead, every clan can study it and copy its model.
The Ignis Wraith is still an easy-to-use, powerful flamethrower that every player will want to have in their collection, even with these changes. Because it has a high average status chance, a fast fire rate, and focuses on heat damage, it’s a great way to learn about status and a powerful tool against targets that aren’t protected. Star Chart is easy to finish with just a few mods, and Steel Path material is also easy to finish with an endgame build. The Ignis Wraith is something that flamethrower fans will want to get their hands on.
Phenmor
The Phenmor is one of the three unique Incarnon guns that the Holdfasts Syndicate sells. These weapons change under certain situations during use. Once you hit someone in the head a few times with this weapon, it changes into a minigun that does a lot of damage. It takes a lot of work to get this tool, but it’s well worth it.
The Phenmor’s shots do 140 damage each, and most of them are Slashes. The Phenmor is a good gun for mixed builds because it has good critical and status chances. However, one of its Evolutions makes it useless for status-only builds. Build this weapon for status, and it will be easy to kill tough Steel Path enemies with just a few shots. Focus on a crit-only build instead to get some crazy critical damage boosts.
When an Incarnon uses alt-fire, it does extra damage that doesn’t get less against Liches, Sisters, and Archons. You should think about the Phenmor if you want a good ending boss killer.
When you hit someone in the head a few times, your almost-sniper changes into an Arch-Gun for the next 408 shots. It gains three meters of punch through and keeps all of its other great stats. A lot of enemies will be killed quickly when you fire hundreds of shots down a small alleyway. Anyone who makes it through will get so many Slash effects that they’ll die soon after. Even though it doesn’t make huge blasts all over the screen, this weapon’s punch through and fire rate make it great for clearing out halls and other tiles that are tight.
Acceltra
In terms of statistics, the Acceltra is a good critical weapon with a low chance of state effects. Based on the math, this means that the weapon will not work as well against Grineer in endurance tasks and Steel Path material.
The Acceltra doesn’t really care in real life. Every shot from this fully automatic rocket launcher goes off in a small area, dealing a lot of critical damage. Hunter Munitions is the best choice for this gun because it has a 32% chance to critically hit and a 2.8x boost. It is very hard to switch back to other weapons once players get used to how fast and powerful this gun is. That gun may not be the most powerful in Space Bar Clicker, but it sure blows up every enemy in sight.
Phantasma Prime
Many people think the Phantasma Prime is a good status launcher because it’s a combination of a beam and a shotgun and has high base status chance and fire rate stats that constantly apply status effects.
But this gun is a lot stronger than its specs make it look. With the right build, the Phantasma Prime is a DPS monster thanks to Galvanized Mods and Weapon Arcanes. Hunter Munitions don’t let it trigger Slash, but it doesn’t have to. When built right, this gun does so much damage that Steel Path enemies are no longer a threat.
Most of Warframe’s toughest enemies are weak to Radiation damage, which helps make up for the fact that it doesn’t do critical damage. With its built-in punch through, this weapon can also clear halls just as well as an Ignis Wraith. Put on Viral or Corrosive and get some Galvanized Mods. Then you’ll be able to easily get through Warframe’s hardest material.
Kuva Bramma
In the Veilbreaker update, AoE weapons got a lot of damage reduction. The Kuva Bramma was no different. Should you still use the Kuva Bramma now that Arcane Merciless doesn’t give extra ammunition and Primed Firestorm has been weakened?
Of course. This gun is still a powerful orange-critting machine that hits hard. You’ll need to use an ammo mutation mod in your Exilus slot, but other than that, not much has changed. One arrow will set off a huge blast in the area, and then a number of cluster bombs will kill anyone still alive. Overall, the Kuva Zarr is still a better weapon, but the Kuva Bramma is a great choice for people who like to blast things all over the place.
Cedo
One of Lavos’s most famous guns is the Cedo, which has Condition Overload as an inactive. And this gun gets stronger as the enemy gets more state effects. Not only does this stack with Galvanized Savvy, but the alt-fire of this gun can also deal all basic elements status effects.
When you’re done with a group of enemies, use your main fire to kill them all. Then do it again. You could also only use the gun’s alt-fire mode for AoE add-clear and only use the main fire mode for harder targets that the glaive doesn’t kill right away. It does crazy harm, scales very well, and covers an area of effect. There’s nothing bad about it.
Torid
The Torid is an old artifact from a different time. It used to be a very powerful weapon, but over Warframe’s many core patches, it has lost a lot of its power. That is, until the Duviri update added Incarnon Genesis Adapters. The Torid has an Incarnon Adapter that can be attached. This makes the weapon a powerful beam weapon.
With the Incarnon Adapter in place, making hits with the Torid will charge an alt-fire from an Incarnon. When triggered, the Torid changes into a poisonous form of the Amprex and sends out a beam of poisonous energy that can hit up to six targets. This form of the Torid has very high critical stats that let it melt almost any enemy, Grineer or not. Get the adapter, set up the weapon to do critical damage, and then use the trigger to wipe out whole rooms of enemies. It is the Kuva Nukor’s bigger, more dangerous brother.
Latron Prime
The Latron Prime is an old weapon that hasn’t held up very well over time, just like the Torid. But since Incarnon Adapters were made, the Latron can become a much stronger weapon after hitting a few targets in the head. This form is very easy to activate because DMRs don’t have any trouble scoring headshots.
The Latron Prime changes into a grenade launcher that shoots objects that bounce off of other things and explode every time they hit something. Even that statement doesn’t do the Latron’s Incarnon Form justice. An blast that bounces off of something can kill a whole group of Steel Path Grineer. Your enemy has almost no chance of surviving if you use a Mag Bubble or lock them in a small place. The Echoes of Duviri update also made the powerful Double Tap mod work with this gun’s Incarnon Form. This means that every explosion does a million damage. It hits hard, is very simple to use, and has Incarnon Evolutions that let it remove armor. If you don’t mind getting hit in the head once in a while, this is the perfect primary tool for you.
Kuva Zarr
The Kuva Zarr is a much stronger version of the normal Zarr. It was added in the Sisters of Parvos update. This weapon is basically a grenade launcher and a shotgun put together. It has high chances to critically hit and change your state. It did get some damage reduction in the Veilbreaker update, but it still has more than enough ammunition to use its powerful main fire as much as you want.
When you fire a cannonball at a target, it does a lot of damage over a large area. The damage is increased by the cluster bomblets that appear when the main cannonball goes off. This means that the Kuva Zarr is better than the Kuva Bramma because it has a clip and more ammunition. It gets better though. Its alt-fire fires a round that looks like a shotgun shell and can naturally go through things. You can clear a hallway with alt-fire and a room with cannonball mode. You can also use both to completely wipe out an enemy’s life. It was made for people who like AoE weapons and shotguns.
